The coffee and bar is seen as the heart of the birthplace of Dada at Cabaret Voltaire. In 1916 the space used to be part of Restaurant Meierei. Today Cabaret Voltaire is a meeting point, where visitors can talk, read, think and study at leisure. In the evenings and on the weekends Cabaret Voltaire becomes a busy and eventful place of encounter. The house boasts a wide selection of Absinthe and even offers Cabaret Voltaire’s own brand of Dada Absinthe.
And, we are happy to now serve a new gin-based Dada-Sour and as a snack, tasty ‘Brutzelbrot’ from our grill.
The main ingredient of the Dada-Sour is a Gin-Sour, which has been refined with a homemade Thyme-Syrup infusion. A vapor of Mansinthe Absinthe is added to finish the drink off, the scent blends in well with the thyme and juniper berry flavors of the gin-sour resonating old memories. A Bellini is a drink which emerged from 1931 to 1942 in Venice. The Manifestini emerged in 2016 at Cabaret Voltaire in Zurich. A dry Prosecco of biological produce is the base to this fruity summer drink. On request, a homemade fruit blend finishes the aroma of this drink with a well-rounded taste.
For the hungry visitors, we offer a new snack ‘Brutzelbrot’ which consists of two big slices of bread by John Baker with different fillings which are based on either Gruyere or Mozzarella with a choice of different seasonal vegetables and herbs. The ‘Brutzelbrot’ is then put on the grill until warm and crusty!
